PP is short for polypropylene. Polypropylene is a good option for product packaging because it is highly durable. PP is resistant to many chemicals and can offer a good protection against moisture, oil, and even alcohol. PP plastic jars are available in a full range of sizes from 10ml to 500ml. The injection moulding process is well known for its flexibility in materials and the preciseness of the PP parts, so injection moudlding plays a key role in making PP jars. A heating process is created by a combination of the heat and the cut created by the screw. After enough material has been processed, the injection machine will force the heated material under pressure into the injection mould to make the components of the PP jar. The surfaces of PP jars can be frosted to satisfy different requirements. Normally there are two types of PP cream jars: single wall and double walls. Double walls PP jar consists of an inner jar to be fitted into an outer jar. The inner jar is injection moulded, completed with the neck finish and then put into the outer jar on an assembly line.The inner jar is often PP material as PP has very good product compatibility features and the combination gives double walls jar a more luxurious appearance. A single wall PP jar consists of only one part so it has better price. To decorate the cosmetic jars, hot stamp is often applied by using metallic foils. These foils have many effects like a glossy or matt finish in combination with metallic silver or gold colours.

PS is short for Polystyrene. PS jar is similar to acrylic and glass jar container with clear feature. PS jar is widly adopted in common packaging field from cosmetic products such as body lotion or face cream to food products such as snacks and gums. PS material is in better price than acrylic material, so some cosmetics manufacturers choose PS material over acrylic material for cost saving.
